Romania has a population of 22 million inhabitants and is the second largest market in Central Europe, and in recent years it has been in the ranking of the largest economic growth in Europe. In 2015, it increased by 3.8%, and the unemployment rate was low, namely 6.8%, but 19% of those who have a job are prone to poverty, and in Europe the percentage is 9%.

 

Romania most often does business with Germany, where the export is 19.7% and the import 19.8%, and in second place is Italy, export 12.4% and import 10.9%. Other imported collaborations for international trade are France, Hungary, Poland, Turkey, Great Britain and the Netherlands. Last year, it was in 12th place out of 27 member states with a value of about 286 billion euros. Between the 1970s and 1980s, it was the largest expansion of production in Romania

 

The economic power of Romania comes from the textile and footwear industries, the mira industry, the assembly of machines, the processing of wood and construction materials. Every year we can see how the Romanian IT industry grows. The construction industry grew in 2007 by 32% and reached the second place in Europe, after Slovakia. In 2009, the underground economy was about a third of Romania's gross domestic product, according to the companies A.T. Kearney. The chemical industry has developed in recent years with the help of sulphur, salt, potassium and gases, and the steel industry increased in 2010 to 3.9 tons. Another potential economic factor is tourism, but there is great competition with the country's neighbors such as Bulgaria, Hungary or Moldova. Romania has many cities waiting to be visited and people to discover their secrets, and some of them are Sibiu, Timișoara Brașov and Cluj-Napoca. Agritourism is another important economic factor, because Romania is the only country in the EU that presents the environment. rural type.

 

Romania is on the 123rd place in terms of road quality and there are 81,693 km of public roads, 16,600 national roads, 35,000 km of county roads and 29,843 km of communal roads. Romania has only 866 kilometers of highway. Pensions represent 11.8% of GDP, being in 6th place following this aspect.

 

The European Union provided Romania with funds of 31 billion euros from 2007 to 2013, and an increase of at least 3.2% in 2024 and 3.5% in 2015 is predicted.
