Why we all want to be THAT girl



We all have goals, big or small, long term or short term and as the new year aproaches we all start to set our goals for the new year, we all promise that this will be our year, that this year we will start to eat healthy, that this year we are going to have better boundaries, that this year we are going to become that girl.


But as another year goes by we are not closer to becoming her. In this article I will explain the appeal of that girl and what holds us back from achieving our goals.


That girl is defined by Urban Dictionary as “a girl (or any gender) that gets up at 5am, meditates, drinks smoothies, has showers every day, journaling, eating only healthy food, goes to gym every day,and is successful in many ways”. This term has become popular especially on tik tok were people have been jumping on the trend by creating videos of their morning routines or by giving tips on how to achieve this lifestyle, but although this might seem easy this kind of lifestyle comes from a place of immense privilege, a place in which people have a lot of time.


And as such you might be wondering then how do I become that girl? Well the most important part of this character is that she lives her best life and how does she do this? By achieving her goals, how can you do the same? How can you create habits and fulfill your goals?


Well first of all you need to identify your goal and then see how you can achieve it, create a plan, for example you want to workout consistently so you create the plan, first of all you need to figure out how often you want to workout and what type of workout do you want to do, do you want to swim, do you want to do boxing, pilates or any other sport, then you need to figure out what you need to do that sport like a swimsuit or workout gear and then how you will fit it into your routine.


Now that you have a plan the next step is to transform it into a habit(something that happens regularly) and the main thing that you need to keep in mind is that to form a habit you need to make it enjoyable, and thai works for changing habits as well, for example if you want to start eating less chocolate you need to rep[lace it with something that is more enjoyable, for example a fruit that you really like or another healthy snack that gives you satisfaction.


And now, what do you do? Well, now you become that girl.
